The river offers both adventure and opportunity for nature lovers. Nestled along this mighty river is the Bheemeshwari Fishing Camp, world-renowned as home to the great 'Mahseer' - the finest & the largest tropical sporting fish known to man. Tucked away from the milling crowds, yet close enough for you to reach, this camp offers a slice of nature that is entirely unique, one in which you can totally feel free! .

On the riverbank are also nine well-furnished tented cottages (twin-bedded with attached bathrooms) for those who prefer a more closer-to-nature experience.

ACTIVITIES: Bheemeshwari Fishing Camp is a perfect base for anglers in pursuit of the Mighty one. The fishing season here is during the months of November, December, January and February. Guests are provided with a local guide or 'gillie' for every two visitors. Gillies help anglers with their knowledge of the waters and are experienced fishermen themselves. They also are adept at using the coracle boats (native, circular boats made out of buffalo hide) and can move guests from place to place in the waters. JLR provides the coracles to cross the river and also to help with the landing of fish.

LOCATION: Bheemeshwari is located at a distance of 100 km from the tech city, Bangalore, down the Kanakapura - Kollegal Highway. You have to turn off at Halagur, and go down the Halagur - Muttatti road.

Galibore Fishing and Nature Camp is tucked away literally far from the maddening crowd, deep in the deciduous forests about ten km from Sangam, on the banks of the River Cauvery. There is no habitation of any kind for miles around and the only sounds are the birdcalls and the whistling of the wind. Indeed the place gets its name from a windy hillock called Galibore, situated just behind the camp.

The Camp is in the middle of wilderness overlooking the River Cauvery, surrounded by hills. The Camp itself is covered with trees lining both sides of the river. This is indeed a rough country. This is ideal for those who want total privacy and no crowd.

ACCOMMODATION:
This Camp has 10 luxurious tented cottages with attached bath. However, there is no electricity here. We provide only hurricane/ solar lamps, which add to the rustic nature of the place. Located sufficiently away from any habitation, Galibore offers complete peace and tranquility.

FACILITIES:
Sit back under a gazebo and tuck into a buffet lunch or dinner, among other hungry souls like you. While breakfast is generally a quiet affair, as you savour the view and the natural ambience along with the food, the evening barbecue by the riverside is more spirited and lively. As twilight dissolves into the night, a bonfire is lit and while you recline on a lawn chair or swing leisurely in a hammock, preparations are afoot for the barbecue - of grilled chicken, fish or vegetables.
Hammocks are fixed outside each tent and hut for those who would like to laze or read a book in the open. A safe tumbling net is provided for guests to have a rollicking time.

ACTIVITIES:
Once here, your main preoccupation would be coracle rides on the river, hiking the jungle trails, joy fishing or lazing in hammocks under the green canopy of venerable old trees lining the riverbank. A walk along the riverbank will rejuvenate your tired spirit and body. Bird watchers will find the riverbank and its surrounding woods an avian paradise.
Galibore is a very popular angling camp and professional anglers visit the camp during the season. Anglers bring along their tackles and gear to hook the Mighty Mahseer. As a principle, we strictly adhere to the ‘catch and release’ sport fishing policy , which involves realizing back the Mahseer, a threatened spices, into the river after taking its photographs, weight, etc.,

The Karnataka Forest Department has about 150 Elephants in various camps and Dubare has been historically an important camp. The Elephants for the famous Mysore Dassehra were trained at Dubare elephant camp. But presently after logging operations have ceased, the Forest Department does not really know what to do with all its elephants! They (elephants) have been practically retired except for giving some rides to odd tourists. At the same time, the Forest Department spends quite some money to maintain them and their mahouts. With this as a background, Jungle Lodges & Resorts (JLR) has struck upon a unique idea to utilize the Elephants at Dubare Camp to provide the tourists with 'an intimate experience with Elephants'. JLR seeks to build upon the un-ending fascination that man has for Elephants! At the Dubare Elephant Camp, a visitor can spend hours simply watching Elephants and of course, learning more about them. A trained Naturalist is at hand to explain the various aspects of Elephant history, ecology and biology. The visitor can not only observe and learn but also participate in various activities involving Elephants.

ACCOMMODATION: Presently there is 10 luxury cottage with well-furnished accommodation with all modern facilities. Apart from the comfortable accommodation, the Gol Ghar which is a circular, open-to-sides gazebo is the guests dining area, providing an extraordinary close to nature experience

ACTIVITIES: Elephant Grooming: Visitors can watch Elephants been given a scrub-bath in the River and also watch how oil is applied on their forehead, tusks and other aspects of Elephant grooming.

Elephant feeding: Visitors can watch the food being prepared for the Elephants and how they are fed. They can even participate by feeding the Elephants themselves - for this, we can give them some sugarcane, coconuts or bananas.
Monsoon River Rafting: During the months of July, Aug and September, JLR river rafts on the River Cauvery along the stretch adjacent to the Elephant Camp. Run by John Pollard and his team, rafting on the Cauvery - a gorgeous yet wild river during the rains, is an exhilarating experience.

LOCATION:
Dubare Elephant Camp is located in the popular district of Coorg (Kodagu) and is easily accessible from Bangalore. The route from Bangalore is via Mysore, Kushalnagar, Gudde Hosur (4km from Kushalnagar on BM Road), then a left turn towards Siddapur.
